In Mac OS, Safari is a Cocoa application that uses Apple's WebKit to apply page and process JavaScript. WebKit consists of WebCore (based on the KHTML engine from Konqueror) and JavaScript (based on KDE's JavaScript engine that KJS). Similarly, the KHTML and KJS, Webcore and JavaScript have free software and released under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License. History and Development
Until 1997, Apple Macintosh computers have sent only with Netscape Navigator and Cyberdog. Internet Explorer for Mac and Mac OS 8.1 only recently used as the default web as part of a five-year agreement between Apple and Microsoft. However, Netscape Navigator continues to be included. Microsoft melrilis three major versions of Internet Explorer for the Mac that coincided with Mac OS 8 and Mac OS 9. Criticism
Distribution through the Apple Software Update
Apple Software Update, which is bound by QuickTime and iTunes in Windows Safari fails to make installation even when the user's machine can detect it. John Lilli, CEO of Mozilla states that use Apple to update its software is to promote other products that are 'bad practice and should be stopped'. He opposes the practice of giving and malware restrictions on the distribution of destructive belief that all software companies are trying to build users. Apple has responded to Lilly's statement by saying that the company is just trying to make sure users have the most recent version of Safari.
