What is the idioms???
Idioms is a group of words strung together in a particular arrangement in which the meaning of the idiom can not be predictable from the meaning of its constituent words separately.
example:
a. Not go a bundle on somebody or something
Meaning: to not like something or somebody very much.
Sentence : I don’t go a bundle on her.
b. Like mother like daughter
Meaning : kids are similar to their parents or what kids do are what their parents do.
Sentence :she loves shoping just like her mom.
c. Too many cooks spoil the broth
Meaning : if many people mix, so the problem is difficult.
d. Suck it and see
Meaning : the best way to know that something is suitable or not is to try it.
Sentence : why should you put your self in confusion? Just suck it and see!
e. Killing two bird with one stone
Meaning : getting done two things within a period of time.
Sentence : by doing this, we’re killing two birds with one stone.
f. A stone’s throw
Meaning : a short distance a way
Sentence : distance between my home and campus like a stone’s throw.
g. We are in the same boat
Meaning : be in the same difficult or unlucky
Sentence : I find the test difficult to do. But I think we in the same boat; we’re still learning
h. If you were in my shoes
Meaning : if you be me; if you be in my position.
Sentence : what are you gonna do if you were in my shoes?
i. In the blink of an eye
Meaning : In the short time / quickly.
Sentence : rocket glide in the blink of a eye.
